R&R at East Coast Commune, the East Coast plan you’ve been waiting for

The very definition of family-friendly chic, East Coast Commune (Eccomune) is a new Cafe at Marine Cove, opening its doors this Wednesday.

East Coast Commune
A sea-side luxury
Catch a cuppa along their Coffee bar
A quieter space for the more intimate diners

Opened by a husband and wife team, Shermien shared that their vision for the space was in line with the calm surroundings of the sea. The deep blue/teals, jellyfish paintings (by local artist Wu Yanrong) and wooden details all blend well to create a relaxed and elegant atmosphere. The Cafe also has a play corner for kids and a seriously aesthetic momma & baby room I wouldn’t mind resting in either.

At its heart, they introduce healthier foods with a veggie touch (something the head chef personally enjoys adding to his creations) that are easily enjoyed for all ages. They also serve a satisfying oat milk latte, and a vegan Chai tea that was sourced specifically from a artisanal seller.

We had the pleasure of trying their tasting menu which I won’t touch on much as it was subject to changes. But I will say this - all wholesome, all good. No trace of MSG here.

Hearty meals along a communal table
Berry sourdough waffles & Chai
Homemade Pesto pasta with fresh Parmesan shavings
Our personal pick - Lasagne with Orange Zest

Overall, we loved slowing down in the calm and serene environment. The open space felt very relaxed and each table rather private. Perfect for those afternoons with your girlfriends to chill over a cup of coffee, or to relax with your whole family. A big thankyou to Shermien and Cherine for the invitation, and of course, my warmest congratulations on your official opening. East Coast Commune is certainly your fresh new place to nourish the tummy and soul.
